Types of Kitchen Sinks
Undermount
Undermount sinks are secured to the underside of a solid surface benchtop, leaving the benchtop free of the sink lip. Perfect for a clean look.
Top Mount
The sink lip sits on top of the benchtop, whether it’s bowl only, or bowl and drainer. The benefit is not seeing the silicon join between sink and benchtop.
Bowl Only
Bowl only sinks minimise the space taken up on the benchtop. Most come with drainer accessories that can be put away when not in use.
Bowl & Drainer
A more traditional sink application, where there are multiple options for the number of bowls, the size, and the layout. The drainer is built in.
Tap Holes
Sinks can come with a top hole included, or without, in which case the tap would be installed directly into a solid surface benchtop.
Materials & Finishes
Stainless Steel
The most common sink material due to its durable nature. A number of the Oliveri stainless steel sinks are made in Adelaide, SA.
Coloured Stainless Steel
An environmentally friendly process creates a coloured coating on stainless steel. Options include gold, copper, black, and gunmetal.
Black Granite
Made in Italy, to ensure premium quality and reliability. The Oliveri Santorini sinks are constructed from 80% granite and 20% resin.
White Granite
Perfect to complement a white benchtop, as it blends in. The Oliveri Santorini sinks are scratch resistant, impact resistant and heat resistant.
Farmhouse
Usually made from porcelain, farmhouse sinks are typically deeper and wider than traditional sinks, and sit within cabinetry rather than benchtop.

Coloured Stainless Steel
The Oliveri Essente range matches the Spectra sink range, to create taps in copper, gold, black, and gunmetal.
Choosing The Right Sink & Tap Combination
The two most important factors to consider when selecting your sink and tap are function and style.
Consider how you currently use your space, and whether you would like one sink bowl, or two. Give thought to whether you’d like a built in drainer, or would prefer a separate accessory that can be put away when not in use. For the tap, is a pull-out feature an important function, and how much of a statement would you like you tap to make.
Coordinating your sink and tap style and aesthetics to your kitchen design and decor are important. Consider your overall colour scheme, especially handles and appliances – as these are areas that will also feature a colour, and it’s a good idea to match them if you can.
Matching your sink and tap to each other is also key. If you’re going the same style in both, then match the material so that the finish is consistent. If you’re going for a contrast, for example a gold tap and a black sink, echo those colours in your other elements, like handles, small appliances, and styling.
