Welcome to another instalment of our, Designer Spotlight, giving you a glimpse into the creative minds behind our stunning kitchen designs.
Next in the spotlight is Christine. With over two decades experience in design, Christine has seen trends evolve and change, growing her expertise and knowledge in Kitchen Design. She loves to create kitchens that are not just beautiful and functional, but a joy to live in.
Can you tell us a little about yourself and your passions?
I have been in the kitchen industry for over 20 years as a designer and have seen a lot of changes in style and colours.
One of my hobbies, in my spare time, is gardening. I love the creative side of seeing things grow, planning and seeing a vision of the flower beds coming to life each season. The best thing is to pick seasonal vegetables and a bunch of flowers to bring into my home and enjoy my coffee and breakfast in the garden.
What do you love most about working as a designer?
This is such a fun and creative industry to be able to transform an old tired kitchen into one that is beautiful, functional and fun to be in. I love working with my clients and getting to know how they live and work in their kitchen to bring their dreams to fulfilment.
Do you have a favourite design style?
I love the modern shaker in our Kieve 20 style, as this is subtle elegance and suits many different homes. Also a plain laminate door with a second colour in woodgrain or green to add a pop of warmth. I like how the current fashion is now back to choosing what suits your style and lifestyle and has a more organic feel than in previous years. It is important to be able to feel comfortable and relaxed in your home.
Do you have a favourite Farquhar Kitchens project you have worked on?
I have had many favorite projects however one that stands out is the Classic Elegance in our latest magazine.
Moving the kitchen back, removing a wall and building a new wall to create a butlers pantry allowed the room to flow better. This created a beautiful functional spacious kitchen with loads of storage behind, and perfect for large family gatherings.
The stunning stone benchtop and splashback , reeded glass doors and strip lighting made it a beautiful addition to this bungalow.
