Classic Elegance

On a beautiful, tree-lined street in Adelaide’s East lies a 1920s sandstone bungalow that David and Margherita have called home for 25 years.

Project Profile

The renovation involved reconfiguring the kitchen to a galley layout and removing part of the wall to open up the space, connecting it with the dining and living areas. The result is classic and elegant, with respect to both the original home’s character and the modernised extension.

Cabinetry

The kitchen is bright and airy in Farquhar’s Premium White cabinetry with our Kiev 20 border profile. It is paired with a stunning display of intricately detailed stone inspired by calacatta veining, and soft oak accents.

Functional Design

Incorporating the steel-frame glass doors was a must for Margherita. For David, it was the practicality of the family of four being able to move freely around the island that was key. ‘That has made it very functional for us,’ David explains; ‘it just flows really well.’

Butler’s Pantry

Tall cabinet doors are disguised as the entrance to the Butler’s pantry behind the kitchen, which was a non-negotiable to fit into the design. Retaining the ornate fireplace adds a touch of the home’s original charm to the kitchen view when the doors are left open.

"I love cooking out here. It’s got such a beautiful feel."
