The Farquhar name has been synonymous with kitchens for over 40 years. Having evolved and grown from a simple cabinet-making service in 1978 to a respected, full-scale kitchen operation. Family involvement has been key to the growth and evolution of the company, with 4 generations of Farquhar involved in the business.

In addition to kitchens, Farquhar produces cabinets for the whole home including bathrooms, ensuite’s, walk-in-robes, linens, laundries, studies, garages and more.

Our Lonsdale kitchen manufacturing factory

Despite what you may think, many kitchen companies in Adelaide do not necessarily produce their kitchens here in South Australia. As a leading Adelaide kitchen manufacturer we have a dedicated kitchen and cabinet assembly factory located in Lonsdale. KT3 (Kitchens To The Trade) is the back-bone of the Farquhar kitchens operation, allowing seamless integration between our showroom and factory.

With over 8000 square metres of factory floorspace our kitchen factory produces cabinets, benchtops, thermo PVC doors and more for homes across South Australia and beyond. Housed with the latest cabinet-making machiney such as CNC flat-bed routers, vinyl-wrap door press, edge-banders and much more the factory is a key strength when choosing a kitchen company.

In addition to producing cabinetry for the Farquhar retail arm, we also manufacture kitchens for other retail outlets, including U-Install-It Kitchens, our DIY kitchen alternative.

Employment & Future Generations

Beyond the investment in the machinery and technology, we at Farquhar consider our greatest investment and asset as our people. Across the board from the design and sales staff, the machinists to the cabinet-makers installing, we believe that it’s the faces, the enthusiasm and personality of our staff that ensures success. Currently we have over 210 staff employed by Farquhar group of companies.

Each year we take on new apprentice cabinet-makers, providing a pathway for young South Australian’s to learn on the job, working in a progressive, multifaceted industry. Our job pathways have seen staff grow from sweeping the factory floor to managing cabinet-making teams. We’re incredibly proud of the hard-work and dedication our staff show and the number of long-term employees is testament to the mutual respect shown within the organisation.
