At the outset of their renovation, Kate and Scott had different ideas of the kitchen they wanted to create. Kate wanted light, Scott wanted dark. The result is a classic white kitchen, with striking black features.
Project Profile
It is a simple and elegant style, timeless in its design. The use of lighting and subtle features, like the curved island cabinetry, and the olive and sandy coloured veining in the benchtop, add detail and interest.

Cabinetry
Clean lines are achieved with simple and effective laminate cabinetry in a bright white hue, which was fundamental to the overall classic white theme. Opting for handle-less look with push to open doors and finger grip drawers, the cabinetry is minimalistic bar the feature of the softening curve that draws the eye.
Layout & Function
Function was key, moving the pantry from the adjacent space into the main kitchen, in the form of a tall pantry unit with inner drawers, and moving small appliances to the nook. With the reconfiguration, the space stays neat and echoes the clean lines seen throughout the design, with push to open doors and finger grip drawers.
The Island
The island was a must have feature for the couple. It runs the full length of the space available. It maximises functionality, with storage on the outer, and integrated bin drawer, dishwasher and sink on the inner. One end opens to a double sided seating space, or the perfect readymade cubby house for their young daughter Charlotte.
"The range of options available in the showroom really helped inform our final choices."
